Wicket is an excellent component based framework for developing web apps in Java. In this hands-on presentation you will get a chance to write a simple wicket application and look at some of the key features. Bring your laptop if you want to type and run code.

Some of the key questions this presentation will answer are


  • What is wicket?
  • What is a component based framework and how are component based frameworks different than action based frameworks.
  • Differences between Wicket and JSF
  • Some of the key features of wicket


Adib Saikali is the founder of Programming Mastery Inc. a software development consulting and training company. Adib has contributed his work as a technical author to many publications such as Oracle Magazine, and has also spoken at several industry conferences including JavaOne. Adib holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from University of Waterloo.
