“ Everyone should design and build a ui framework once. This talk was a great overview of the Squirrel UI - a custom ui framework written using Java 1.1 on linux using raw AWT. It covered the basics of separating your UI from your business logic (MVC) and simple event handling and construction of basic UI components and layout management. It provided a good insight into the decision making process for a lightweight UI. ”
