Bayleaf Software is expanding again, as a result has immediate openings for full time, senior programmers with Java experience.

A successful candidate will have current experience architecting and developing medium to large scale web applications in Java. As a key member of our development team you will work on a number of highly detailed projects. The ability to work independently and within a team environment, excellent communications skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive attitude are essential.

“Must have” skills:
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience developing medium to large scale web applications with Java;
- Experience with SQL Server and MySQL; Oracle an asset;
- Experience developing complex UI's using rich UI libraries such as EXT GWT,
- A solid understanding of frameworks such as Struts, Struts 2, Spring, Hibernate;
- Understanding of Web Development standards and Best Practices including a structured approach to coding and documentation;
- Strong English written and verbal communicational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work under tight deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
- Past experience as a development lead on medium to large scale project and mentoring of junior to intermediate developers.

“Nice to have” skills:
- An understanding of .NET, PHP, ColdFusion, JS/Ajax or any other languages;
- Familiarity with source code control systems;
- Familiarity with testing and QA processes and standards;
- Familiarity with Ant and automated builds;

Education Requirements:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field;
- Sun Java Certification is an asset.

This is a full time salaried position at our Yaletown offices in Vancouver. We are open to exploring contracting opportunities.
